The film The Well brings us an interesting vision of how the human being acts in extreme situations, where resources and food are scarce and also community. How does the human being behave on these occasions? Does the spirit of sharing, unity and solidarity come about in these moments? Or do selfishness and thought only prevail in itself? All these questions are shown in an aggressive way in this film.

The Well is a Spanish horror science fiction film directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia and released in 2019.  The film takes place in a large vertical tower where the residents are distributed over the floors, at the top the wealthiest who receive the food first with a beautiful banquet, the ones downstairs stay with the rest of the upper floor.

Residents are periodically randomly swapped between their many floors, and are fed by a platform that is initially fed food, the platform gradually descends the floors of the building, each level receiving only the leftovers of the previous ones. The Well has a system designed to cause conflict, because residents at the highest levels can eat as much as they can, leaving less and less for those below.

Then comes the most intriguing and devastating questioning of the film, will be that in extreme moments where people are afraid and cornered they stop thinking about society and other people and start just thinking about themselves. In the Well it is seen that this questioning is true, because people when they are in the upper levels do the same thing, that is, they eat all the food not leaving for other people on lower floors.
