TIPS FOR BETTER SLEEPING
To start the conversation we have to tell you something important about sleep first. It is not just the duration of sleep that makes it more effective, invigorating and charges energy. There is a type of sleep called “deep sleep”, it rests more and still offers you a better quality of energy. Some people end up sleeping less than others, but spend more time in deep sleep making their night’s sleep more invigorating.
Now knowing these two very important variables (Duration and Deep Sleep), we will give you 5 Tips to improve sleep:
- Caffeine: Be careful with high coffee intakes during the day, even though some people cut coffee at night, high consumption during the day will interfere with your night’s sleep too. Remembering that there are other foods and products that also have caffeine, such as teas, herbs and some foods that have coffee in their composition;
- Physical Exercise: Physical exercises help a lot to improve the quality of sleep, but there are some points that we must pay attention to. To have the benefits of physical exercises at bedtime, the practice has to be done daily for your body to get used to and adapt and release all hormones related to sport;
- Light: Be careful with the light, but when we say light we are also talking about electronic devices such as cell phones, notebooks, televisions, lamps and everything else that produces some incidence of light inside the room. When your body perceives light at bedtime, it inhibits the production of melatonin, a hormone responsible for well-being and quality of sleep. The same process occurs when waking up, turning on some light as soon as you wake up causes your body to wake up and remove sleepiness to start the day;
- Mind: Take care of your mind, have moments of rest and tranquility during the day, take advantage of these times to read a book, meditate a little, sometimes standing there and thinking about life can help you a lot to relax and especially improve sleep .
- Sleep Routine: Keep a sleep routine, the body always tries to get used to it and look for balance, so having time to sleep and time to wake up will help your body to prepare and improve the quality of your sleep. Also try to maintain at least 8 hours of sleep, of course not all people need this time, but this is usually a very good average to take as a parameter. Just one last tip to finish, try to maintain this routine also on the weekend so that your body does not get out of control, and thus, damaging your night of rest during the week.
